Research On The Running Status Monitoring And Failure Diagnosis Method Of Cooling Tower Fan

Cooling tower fan is a device which is used to air-cooling water, and is one of the key equipment in water recycling system of petroleum, chemical engineering, electric power, metallurgy and other industries, and its main function is to cool the hot industrial water compulsively. In order to ensure its cooling performance, research a practical and reliable running status monitoring and failure diagnosis method has a practical significance.The main purpose of this subject is researching the cooling tower fan failure mechanism and monitoring methods. The subject puts forward a kind of safe and reliable, low cost, and suitable method for cooling tower fan monitoring to avoid the serious thrown accident easily caused by the transmission shaft and the blade fracture. The subject designs a failure monitoring system of cooling tower fan based on MCU and PLC through the experimental research on cooling tower fan in sinopec Tianjin branch. The production practice shows that this monitoring method increases the cooling tower fan failure monitoring reliability and has a good application value.This research of this subject includes:(1) Making a deep research on the structural features and frequency control principle of the cooling tower fan, at the same time, detailed analysis has been maken on possible various failure type. The fracture mechanism and causes of the transmission shaft and blade fracture are found through the broken section analysis.(2) Based on the research of the existing failure diagnosis method, according to the transmission shaft and the blade failure mechanism, the new type of failure monitoring methods are put forward, they are coupling displacement monitoring method and the blade tip time monitoring method.(3) The study is made on MCU which as the control core to the failure monitoring system. After analysis and processing the pulse signal through the MCU timing, interrupt function, it designs the fan blade and transmission shaft failure monitoring system,which can alert when the blade and transmission shaft fracturing or serious deformation.(4) The cooling tower fan failure monitoring system was designed which based on WinCC configuration software and Siemens S7-200PLC,and it realizes the design of monitoring system to cooling tower fan blades, transmission shaft, gear box oil temperature and so on.
