Application Of Perennial Flower Gardening In Residential District In Changsha City

Perennial flowers are an important style of the landscape plants. In a widespread pursuit of natural and ecological human settlement nowadays, it is worthwhile to consider and study how to make use of perennial flowers to enrich the plants landscape of the urban residential district and improve the quality of its virescence. Taking Changsha as the example, the paper makes a systematic study on the method of plant selection and application for perennial flowers and provides different space types of the urban residential districts with its proper perennial flowers. The main results are as follows:(1)analyzing and summarizing relevant theories of perennial flowers application. According to garden aestheticisms and landscape ecology, the paper analyzes the related theoties on colors, seasonal changes and community combination in perennial flowers’application, and also explains the practical significance of these theories.(2)Investigating the application and species of perennial flowers in the residential area of Changsha.Based on survey of twenty residential districts in Changsha City for one year, the paper gets concluded that there are four application forms of perennial flowers in Changsha City:flowerting shrubs, flower bed, ground cover and container planting. At present, there are15species of perennials in use.(3)The paper states choosing principles and approaches of perennial flowers, which is suitable for Changsha residential greening, including the principles of adaptability,diversity,safety and continuity.Selecting59species of perennials which are suitable for Changsha residential districts and classifying them by their appreciation characteristics, ecological habits and plant morphology, in order to sums up the proper way to allocate perennial flowers.(4)The paper summarizes seven ways of perennial flowers’ application forms in residential greening, including:flowerting shrubs, flower beds, flower border, and container planting. For each application, the paper provides relevant perennial flowers and illustrates specific configuration and design features. (5)Using the application forms and methods summarized in the paper for Lushanghejing residential district in changsha.The scientific applications of perennial flowers could not only rich plant landscape of residential area, but also improve the quality of residential environment. Actually, it can provide a reference for the application of perennial flowers in the Changsha city green by Study of perennial flowers in the residential district. It is also conducive to enhance the level of greening in Changsha city and create a good image of the city. After all, it will be helpful to make Changsha City as a true sense of garden city.
