In recent years, with the development of power system, the regional relationship between grids has become more and more closely, and as a result of large-scale interconnection, a large number of circle networks have arisen. If you do not take additional measures, the power flow in the network will be distributed based on the impedance of lines, which will be difficult to control. Power flow spreading unevenly will lead that some transmission lines are low loaded and some are heavily loaded. Low loaded lines which utilization rate is insufficient will impose limit on the power transfer capacity, and heavily loaded lines under long-term operation may even endanger system stability. In the light of above problems, this dissertation studies an angel tapping transformer for power flow control.Angle tapping transformer designed in this dissertation is based on the method of altering the electrical angle, and regulate effectively and quickly by taps on regulating windings. Compared with UPFC, the price is cheaper. And the loss is smaller than phase shifting transformer. Meanwhile, angle tapping transformer is better to control power flow.This dissertation analyzes the operation principle, structure and wiring mode of the advanced-combined angle tapping transformer in detail that based on the basic principle of phase shifting transformer, and also demonstrates its name origin and symbol; Design and manufacture a mini-type combined angle tapping transformer for experiment, in the aspect of main parameters, core selection, turns calculation and wire selection etc; Analyze magnetic circuit of angle tapping transformer and deduce its equivalent circuit; The experiments of performance test and function research validate the feasibility of angle tapping transformer; Take advantage of the Matlab/Simulink software to build a single-phase model of combined angle tapping transformer, and calculates equivalent parameters of an angle tapping transformer which can be applied to transmission and distribution networks at the same time. And finally the function of angle-tapping and power flow control is proven by simulation of simplified circle network.
