Train control system is the core system to ensure the safety of high-speed railway. As a typical safety-critical system, once the train control system fails, it will cause serious harm on human lives and property, so it is especially important to ensure the security of the system. The on-board sub-system is the core system of the train control system, which plays a very important role to ensure the safety of the entire system. Any equipment should be tested before they are put into use. So this paper presents a safety test methods based on fault injection for the on-board sub-system. We inject the actual faults into the on-board equipment to analyze its response, in order to verify if the on-board equipment meets the safety requirements. We design a safety test platform for the on-board equipment based on CTCS-3train control system interoperability testing platform. The main work is as follows:Firstly, this paper studied train control system test technology and fault injection technology at home or abroad. We introduced the structures and principles of fault injection and compared the different fault injection methods.Secondly, the paper presents a safety testing method based on fault injection, which contains system safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, failure mode analysis, formal modeling, generation of safety cases, building safety test platform based on fault injection, safety test and so on.Thirdly, we choose the method of FMEA to analyze the on-board sub-system. And we use CPN for formal modeling and generate the test cases. Finally, based on the requirements specification of on-board equipment safety test platform, we build the CTCS-3on-board equipment safety test platform. And we injected the fault into the odometer of the on-board sub-system. The test result also proved the feasibility of the method we proposed in the paper.
