A dimmable LED lighting drive power is designed, simulated and debugged.Background knowledge of LED lighting and five common DC convertors are introduced. TRIAC dimming and four dimming compatible solutions are analyzed. Power factor correction and EMC engineering methods are researched.According to the design requirements, flyback converter and single-stage PFC are selected as the drive power topology. The drive power works in discontinuous current mode and uses peak current control mode. Power factor correction and flyback transformers are designed based on AP1682and RCD clamp circuit is added for reliability. EMI filter, output filter circuit, linear compensation circuit and no-load protection circuit are designed also. Finally, damper circuit, bleeder circuit and deep dimming circuit are designed to solute dimming compatible problems.Single-stage PFC flyback converter is simulated based on Saber, power factor correction, transformer, switch, secondary power diode, EMI filter are analyzed. With different charge resistors, TRIAC dimming’s output voltage is are simulated based on LTspice IV.Real drive power is debugged and power factor correction, output current line/load regulation, power devices and EMC effect are analyzed. Connecting a dimmer, dimming curve is plotted and deep dimming are verified.
