The Study On Form Of Towns In Zhejiang Province

Nowadays, some traditional areas still exists in towns of Zhejiang Province, which demonstrate the history they have experienced from tradition to modernity. Therefore, the specific analysis of this kind of towns could help us understand the typical development track of towns and provide some valuable references for future development of these traditional towns.Taking existing towns of Zhejiang Province as the main research object, this study analyze the differences between traditional and modern town forms with the help of a large number of images from Google earth.The two parts of this thesis, Town Form and Town state, interact as both cause and effect, that is, they are of two different angels of the research. Taking the towns as static objects, the first part analyzes Town Form into six different aspects, exploring the transition of towns microcosmically and quantificationally. At the same time, the study searches for the town’s reasonable and appropriate scale, density and so on, offering references for the rational development of towns.Correspondingly, the second part explores the overall transformation of towns as a dynamic process, mainly in the synthetic and qualitative way, from the view of structure and texture.
