The present lightning strike risk assessment around the world mainly focuses on single building. It provides a way for seeking the lowest lightning hazard accident, the least lightning lost and the best invest benefit of lightning protection. For some special regions or some projects in which the single-building assessment method is not applicable, there is no corresponding lightning risk assessment method for them. But in these special regions, lightning hazard happens more frequently due to their sensitivity and danger degree.Firstly, this thesis introduced the present study about the risk evaluation method for lightning and other natural disasters inside and outside China. Secondly the research goal of regional lightning risk evaluation method was proposed according to the internal characteristics of lightning disasters. The risk factor indexes were derived from the disaster-caused factors, disaster-induced environment and disaster subjects. With these indexes, the modeling structure of regional lightning risk evaluation was built on the base of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and AHP method. Finally, the proposed regional lightning risk evaluation method was verified with a economic development zone respectively, And through case evaluation results to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the method used.
