The development of product design undergoes3stages: I the induction period in primitivesociety. II the packing period in manufacture development III the copy period in industrialtime. modern product design is no longer limited in designing anything. It has broken awayfrom the discussion which aims at deciding which is the first place: fuction or form. modernproduct design is in an era which puts less emphasis on substance’s special and single place inproduct design, which makes product loom in the entire system between huan being andenviroment, which makes product be a media. therfore, man can develop relationship withenvironment through product in life.This passage mainly studies product design from position and meaning of human lifeand social enviroment. it studies product design through theory and ideas of pragmatics ofphylosophy.In research, the author mainly emplys the method of logical analysis in the passagethrough concrete manner of analysis summarization, seduction and induction, etc....... hewants to explain the purpose,meaning and method of pragmatics in product design.Fristly, although the conception of pragmatics was put forward in the20th century atlast, it has been playing a looming fuction in history course of product designdevelopment.author analyzes and comments on basic feature and constraint factor whichpragmatics embodies among various history period of product design.Secontly, the pragmatics’ideas and concept of product design originates from evolutionresearch in philosiphy methodology. philosophy linguistics underwent three chagingdirection stages in the20th century. that is; I linguistics’changing direction II pragmatics’changing direction III the changing direction of cognitionAmong them, pragmatics’ changing directioni plays an epoch-making role. pragmaticsconcept in product design is put forward based on pragmatics research of philosophy.Thirdly, pragmatics concept in product design puts emphasis on the philosophy ofhuman being, the social context of utterance and linguistic situation which are all broughtabout by design.it also puts emphasis on outer factor in process of linguistics application, such as: the convention of human being, the convention of enviromnet,the convention of livingstyle.......... it also discusses the fuction way of product pragmatics to a deeper extend.it findsconcrete way of product pragmatics through using the feature analysis of inner factors whichcan affect pragmatics. these feature analysis also called people using substance contains theguidance of man’s visual sense, the guidance of sense of touch, the guaidance of auditorysense, the guidance of both in sense of touch and taste sense.Author also takes further step to study the concrete formula of pragmatics in productdesign. he studies through the research purpose and meaning of product pragmatics.he alsoemploys experiment way and mode of thinking of naturalscience research. thus, he concludes the concrete experiment formula, such as: the principal offrictional sense, the principal of resounding, the principal of gravity, the principal of theory ofrelativity, the principal of elasticity etc.........The author makes a conclusion: the methodology research of product design can becombined with philosophy ideas and concept of pragmatics based on the previous proof.through the guidance of pragmatics, the products which we design can be actually connectedwith human being and and enviroment, can take effect, can even gain meaning. this kind ofresearch is practical.
