Emotional Design For Interior Space

In this paper, the author studies the theoretical base of emotional design in the interiordesign, the emotional resource, procedure and expressive approaches of interior space as wellas the methods of the emotional design in interior design.Now, as for the interior environment, people have not only material requirements, butalso mental and emotional ones. The real architecture should be not only a living place, butrather an emotional container. The interior space should express emotion and also influencepeople.In the paper, the author will first introduce the research background and the significanceand then the research methodology. After going through the theoretical framework andtechnique route, the author will finally discuss the research content and scope.Secondly, based on psychology, design methodology and the emotional theory inlingo-semiotics, the author conducts a systemic analysis of the interior design. The authorholds that it lies in expression of space and carrier of emotion. At the same time, the authoralso probes into the emotional connotation of the interior space, means to expressing emotion,requirements for the material space due to various emotional characteristics, factorsinfluencing the emotion design, etc.Thirdly, on account of the various styles of modern interior space design, the authorproposes the method of the emotional design in the interior space. Designers are supposed toutilize comprehensive design methods. In other words, they should apply visual andpsychological factors to the interior design by integrating factors of interior space. By doingso can they reach communication and resonance between the interior space and people so asto create the emotional works.Finally, the author summarizes the whole thesis and arrives at the conclusion in thecourse of research.
