Some key technical problems of the car body automatic welding were studied in the process of the automation renovation in a domestic subcompact company body production line. The welding process parameters are optimized, combined the overseas and domestic research status, and integrated analysis of theory and experiments. The electrode head axial wear rules was studied and a kind of electrode head automatic compensation device was designed. The structure of the manipulator was optimized to decrease the jitter in the working process. The welding equipments were improved and optimized to improve the welding efficiency, and reduce the equipment cost. The main research achievements are as follows:(l).The orthogonal experiment method was used to do research with the body shop workpiece materials. Solder joint strength intuitive level trend pictorial analysis diagram of the factors was obtained. The best process parameter combination of spot welding quality was set out.(2).The electrode head axial wear rules was studied to determine the compensation cycle. A kind of electrode head automatic compensation device was designed to compensate the wear value and reduce the proportion of defects in welds.(3). In view of the decrease of solder joint quality caused by the jitter of the welding manipulator in the welding process.The static and dynamic analysis was carried out on the key components of the manipulator research with AN SYS, and the structure was optimized and improved according to improve the rigidity, reduce the vibration and improve the quality of solder joints.(4).The automatic welding equipments were optimized and improved to improve production rhythm, optimize the layout of the plant and reduce the equipments cost etc.
