With the rapid development of the electric power system, its security andstability is increasingly important, protection devices play an integral role to inprotecting the power system. Now the best means of detecting the protectiondevices is using relay experimental instrument.On the basis of the reference of a large number of literature home andabroad, we analysised the history and status of the relay protection testingtechnology, designed a relay protection experiments by using the single chipprocessor for the controller to avoid the relatively backward of the relayprotection experiment instrument, the complicated structure of the hardwareconfiguration, and the big shortcomings of debugging workload.According to the output voltage current signal of the relay protectionexperiment instrument and the technical indicators such as measuring time and soon, we finished the overall scheme design and introduced the structure diagramof the system.In the hardware circuit design, we completed the microprocessormodule and peripheral circuit, including storage units extension circuit,communication circuit, reset circuit. The signal from the microprocessor wouldbe outputed to the relay protection device after throughing the digital to analogconversion circuit, low pass filter circuit and power operational amplifier,through the digital to analog conversion circuit the output signal would beacquired back to the experiment and the parameters of the signal would bedisplayed on the LCD screen. In the process of software design, we completedthe design of the data interaction between the microprocessor and memoryexpansion module, as well as the man-machine interface display, keypadscanning software design and gave a design of analog-to-digital conversion unit.We researched the validation technology of the relay protection experimental apparatus, gave its main parameter measurement and correction method.The relay protection experiment apparatus based on the single chipprocessor in the topic has simple hardware structure, complete functions,performance optimization, friendly interface, powerful function, and can be usedas the equipment for scientific research test, fills the backward situation of therelay protection laboratory, and it is conducive for the school to carry outteaching and practice about the relay protection testing technology.
