Research On The Design Of The Luxury Yacht Power System

In recent years, because of the impact of the economic crisis, the international shipping market downturn is large. However, as a luxury and high-end ente products, the yacht industry’s ability to promote economic scrutiny gets people’s attention. With the rapid development of domestic and international yacht industry, yacht industry competition increase. In order to improving the overall competitiveness of the ship and to promoting the development of the yacht, the analysis of the yacht power system is requiring.Ship power system is divided into diesel propulsion systems and electric propulsion systems. Now, they are using widely in normal vessels. Diesel propulsion system for ships is the earliest power system using in vessels, which has an irreplaceable position; Electric propulsion system has appeared in the shipbuilding industry in the1970s and now is developing rapidly, which has some advantages that cannot be ignored.Currently, diesel propulsion system still accounts for a large proportion of the yacht power system, at the same time electric propulsion system is also important. Because of the growth demand in the increasingly fierce competition and an requirements of increasing the performances on the yacht power system, in order to improving the overall competitiveness of vessels, luxury yachts power system research is imminent. This paper will analyze the consist of the luxury yachts’ resistance, summarize the resistance calculation methods of the high speed luxury yachts, follow performance and design requirements on the luxury yachts’ power system, then design a diesel propulsion systems and a electric propulsion system of one luxury yacht. Depend on the design of the diesel propulsion systems and electric propulsion system, the analysis and comparison on the performance between the power systems will be carried out. The specific contents are as follows:(1) Analysis constitutes ship resistance of the luxury yacht, determine the-speed of a luxury yacht and ship classification parameters, summarize the current method of calculating the resistance of the luxury yacht, provide the basis for the power system design; (2) Study a luxury yacht diesel propulsion system, determine the design request of the yacht diesel propulsion systems, put forward a form of the complete design;(3) Research a luxury yacht on electric propulsion system, determine the design request of the yacht electric propulsion systems, put forward a form of the complete design;(4) Study the performance requirements on the power system of luxury yacht, present the point of the performance, compare the two power systems, provide some theoretical basis on the power system design for the luxury yacht.
