The power consumers are speedly increasing same as the quantity of the consumedelectricity with the high-speedly economic growth.The distribution network loopsbetween the power distribution are more and more complicated.The area of thedistribution network is becoming broadlier and boradlier. The equipment types of thedistribution network are more and more.The response of the power system iscomplicated,while the distribution network of the power system occurs the complicatedfailure,or the switcher and protect equipment couldn’t function properly and otheruncertain factors exist because of information disturbing.Then the operator will face alot of difficulties in discerning faults.How to make the distribution network operatesafely,steadily,reliably,and to exactly analyze,fault location becomes the key factorwhich could maintain the economy growth and social stability.The fault diagnosis location could be described by a categorized question modelwhich is suitable for the decision table of rough sets theory.The rough sets(RS) theory isbecoming perfect intelligent science in the processing of the inaccurate and uncertainknowledge. So through the stronger fault-tolerant ability of RS,firstly,without the priordata of resolving the problem,a decision table is formed according to the structure of aceltain distribution network.which is used as the main tool and includes all kinds offault things regarding the trouble calls as the condition attribute sets.Then by using theRS theory,the attribute reduction of the decision table can be reduced as well as theattribute value reduction.Finally,the fault location rules.Can be derived and a knowledgebase is formed.At the same time, GIS is applied to the fault location managementsystem which has excellent space management and spatial location function while Idesign the system of the fault management.The reduction of fault decision talble casesis realized by VB language.Combined with the10KV distribution automation system ofrural power in some power supply bureaus,the visual fault location system ofdistribution is designed.Cases studies show that the algorithm is practiced in the faultlocation system of distribution network.This study gives a minute description of the rough sets theory and themathematical description of distribution network, and we can obtain the mathematicalmodel of distribution network for algorithms study. In which we can obtain the reality processing of the rough sets algorithms.Lastly we can design the rough sets algorithmsprogram according to the flow-process diagram. This study also gives a minutedescription of the specific functional modules and the detail design of rock-bottomdatabases for this project. And this study gives a minute description of the mode ofproceing of the interface of the fault location system between other application systems.At the same time it gives the brief functional modules introduce of the fault locationsystem.And it gives the brief description of how to application the fault location in thesystem. Lastly it gives the all summary of the production and the shortcomming. And itgives the great expectations for the future of the study area of the fault location fordistribution network because of the development of the smart grid...
