The ICR-Intercooled Regenerative cycle of gas turbine is the advanced cycle of gasturbine. Its outstanding advantage is not only the high thermal efficiency and power at thedesign load, but also overcome the economic weaknesses at the low load compared with thesimple cycle. In the ICR cycle, recuperator is an important part on the performance of marinegas turbine. Plate-fin heat exchanger is a kind of compact heat exchanger, can be used as thepreferred form of marine gas turbine heat exchanger.In this paper, according to the high-efficiency and low-loss compact marine gas turbinerecuperator structural features and technical design requirements, carry out the followingwork:(1)On the basis of the traditional plate-fin heat exchanger design theory and method,establish the thermodynamic calculation procedures and methods about gas turbinerecuperator core segment.(2) Marine gas turbine regenerator design program is developed for different fin typeswhich are available and easily perform a variety of plate-fin heat exchanger structure designand fluid flow pressure losses on both sides and core body volume, size and designcalculation and optimization design.(3)Using reasonable orthogonal test program, reasonable arrangement of six variabledigital combination-fin height, fin thickness, fin length of both gas and air side, completeselection of fin size parameter.(4)Refer to the gas turbine recuperator design of British-American WR-21and JapanSMGT, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods,complete numerical simulationfor flow field and design period of the gas turbine recuperator.The paper conclusions provide a useful reference for the design and optimization ofmarine gas turbine recuperator.
