The problem of deep penetration of neutron and photon in shielding layer is a difficultpart of shielding design. First of all, combined on the basic structure of the advancedpressured water reactor, a critical model is developed by distributed computing and MCNPsoftware. neutron fluence rate distribution, photon fluence rate distribution and powerdistribution in reactor core are calculated. Furthermore, the component distribution isreasonable by analyzing the parameters.Second, the angular distribution and axial distribution of neutron fluence rate arecalculated in the inner surface of the pressure vessel in this paper. In the same way, and thebiggest photon fluence rate of axial inner surface and outside surface are delivered. Applyingthe calculation formula of the life of pressure vessel, the fase neutron fluence of is the innersurface in pressure vessel less than the design limits and meets the design requirements.By analyzing the attenuation multiples of neutron and photon in the inner surface andoutside surface of the pressure vessel, the effect of pressure vessel shielding photons is betterthan that of neutron. And the gamma rays shielding performance is shown for differentpressure vessel materials by computing effective atomic number, and the best one is thepressure vessel materials in the advanced PWR..
