| Mooring system was out of the scope of mandatory requirement by ClassificationSociety for a long time in the past, thus the conventional criteria were less for reference. Therequirement of Safety Working Load (SWL) for mooring fittings required by InternationalAssociation of Classification Society (IACS) in recent years is also only one small part amongall requirements for mooring system. Many designers in shipyard and technical institute arelack of design data with actual reference based on construction practice.This paper proceeds right from this standpoint. It states, analyses and investigates aseries of main principles, detailed points and actual solutions during the various phases ofshipbuilding by means of calculation for the system, selection and layout for equipments&fittings, strength consideration and stiffening,design and manufacture of equipments&fittings as well as installation in modern shipbuilding mode. A new mooring system designthought is summarized based on the basic theory, strength calculation, manufacture craft andpractical expericence. Not only make up the defect in early design but also solve the problemsduring construction.The paper compares and demonstrates two different calculation ways for mooring forces,the results from two ways are same. It analyses the connection of braking loads betweensynthetic mooring rope and natural mooring rope, raises the selection solution for syntheticmooring rope, investigates the SWL of mooring fitting in Emergency Towing condition withdetailed fittings selection solution, carries out FEM calculation for stiffening of mooringequipments&fittings based on traditional analysis, sets out the academic criteria integrally forquantized maintenance of mooring winch’s brake load, makes the academic solutiondetailedly for the manufacture of abnormal fittings especially bollard with double columns,summarizes the technics procedure of mooring system installation in modern shipbuildingmode, proveds the detailed points of proction design for mooring system. Researchachievements are applyed and implemented for production design&construction on actualships. |
