In this paper, the main content is Europe and the United States thisbig two auto regulation system, and combined with the national mandatory standards forChinese auto continuous improvement requirements, the research on motor vehicle safetytechnical regulations and standards.As the increasing improvement in Chinese bus design and manufacturing levels andbus companies’ international progress, Chinese buses have reached out to the world.However, it is an unavoidable question that how to conform to the local importing countries’vehicle laws and regulations for those Chinese buses. The European and American standardlaws and regulations are of most universality. Presently, the bus quantity that Chinese buscompanies have exported to Europe is not so extensive, especially to North America. One ofthe most important reasons is that the strict vehicle safety standard in North American areahas set up technological barriers for Chinese exporting buses, contributing to hardship forChinese buses exporting to North American area.The safety standard is most important in European and American standards, especiallythe North American FMVSS all concerning about the safety aspects. Hence, research of thesafety standard is of representative significance in study of integrated standard. ZhongtongBus Holding Co.,Ltd. once exported a city bus with length of12meters to Canada,meanwhile researching the Canadian CMVSS. As Chinese bus standard mainly uses the European ECE/EEC for reference, this paper mainly concentrates on the analyses of M3category bus safety standard in European ECE/EEC and North American CMVSS, as well asconforming to the standard request and getting through the test.
