In recent years, with the rapid development of highway construction, asphaltmixture pavement is widely used in our country. The designed life of asphalt is15to20years. As a result, the highway which was built in the1990’s is about to enter aperiod of repair or overhaul. Due to the shortage of natural sand, asphalt, stone andother resources, along with the enhancement of people’s environmental awareness, theemulsified asphalt cold recycling technology is widely used as a new type of roadconstruction technology. Emulsified asphalt cold recycling technology has manyadvantages. Its gradation can be controlled. It saves road materials, protectsenvironment, has low cost and is conducive to ecological balance. It has been provedthat the asphalt mixture of cold recycling technology can be used in the mid, lowerlayer and road base of high class highway. In addition, it also can be used in thesurface of roads with a medium or light traffic.Because of the difference between recycling materials and raw materials, thefeatures of emulsified asphalt cold recycling mixture may not agree with that ofordinary asphalt mixture. In order to promote the application of cold recyclingtechnology, this paper studies various mechanical performance and pavementperformance indexes of cold recycling mixture specimens with different mixingproportions. The mechanical properties are tested and compared with those of thenatural material. The research contents are as follows.Firstly, the used asphalt mixture was crushed and screened. Physical indexes ofused asphalt have been tested with Abson Method. Secondly, the composition of thecrushed and screened RAP by randomly sampling is verified. The actual gradationscope of the material is obtained. The mechanical performance of Marshall specimensmolded at different temperature and different mixing proportions are tested andcompared. Thirdly, the water stability, high temperature stability and low temperatureanti-cracking performance of Marshall specimens in shape have been researched, Atlast, complete set technology for the emulsified asphalt central plant cold is explored.The author took part in the overhaul of Lian-Huo Freeway. Due to this experience,the author discusses mixing proportion design method for the emulsified asphaltcentral plant cold recycling mixture applied in lower layer. According to indoorexperiment, on the mechanical properties and road performances are researched. Thereference is given on the central plant mixed cold recycling technology applied inrepairing and overhauling of highway. In addition, technical reference data also isprovided for Henan Province Specification.
