Stability analysis of rock slope has always been a major issue in constructionproject. It has brought great difficulties to rock slope stability analysis, because of thatthe actual rock contains a lot of discontinuous weak structure surface in differentstructures, occurrences and characteristics (such as level, joints, cracks, weak sandwich, dykes and fault fracture zone, etc.).Rock slope stability is mainly controlled by the rockstructure plane; the effect of weak interlayer is particularly obvious. The traditionalsearching methods used in soil slope stability analysis are difficult to apply to the rockslope. How to create a theory to reasonably describe the structure mechanical acts in thediscontinuous rock is the key point of consummating the theory of the rock slopestability analysis. Therefore, it’s essential to carry out the study on the stability of theslope containing the weak interlayer. In order to establish and solve the mechanical model of rock slope stabilityanalysis, this paper begins with the solution of non-linear FEM, and introduces iterativemethod, incremental method, for solving nonlinear equations, also analyzes theirrespective basic theories, solving processes and characteristics.Secondly, this paper takes the typical slope as example, adopting continuoussimulation to analyze the weak interlayer problem, using numerical analysis softwareMIDAS/GTS to establish weak interlayer position, inclination, cohesion, internalfriction angle of the numerical model and analyzing the displacement map and solvingthe safety factor of the model. Through a large number of numerical simulations tostudy the law which position, inclination, cohesion, internal friction angle impact on thesafety factor as well as slope deformation characteristics; then applying anchor to thetypical numerical model, contrasting the reinforced effects (safety factor),andcomparing the before and after the reinforcement measures of the slope internaldisplacements, stresses. Finally, the text uses FEM to analyze the stability of an actual rock slope project.Under the calculation condition, the safety factor is1.8125and finding out the potentialslip plane. In the end, the problems encountered in the process of simulation werediscussed.
