With the development of economy and society, the car is increasingly popular, but at thesame time, consumers are increasingly high demand for its handling and stability as well assecurity performance. As the main bearer of the car, Frame is used to bear the alternating load,and yet the structure often occur fatigue damage withstand the alternating load,so calculationand analysis of the fatigue properties of the frame is crucial. the paper focuses on frame,bymeans of the finite element analysis for its strength, stiffness analysis, modal analysis and fatiguedurability,analysis of concrete work as follows:First, in the modeling software, three-dimensional geometric model is builded according tothe frame assembly and is appropriate components simplified or idealized. frame structure isdiscreted in HyperMesh,which is a finite element pre-processing software. Shell elements areused in the process of discreting structure, and as well as rigid elements are applied to simulateweld points, in order to improve the quality of the elements, Quality Index and check elementsare also used.Second, Combined with frame in the process of using case, structure strength and stiffnessanalysis of the bending case and torsion case, which are two typical kinds, were calculated inMSC.Nastran, and the evaluation, based on displacement nephogram and stress nephogram, wasgiven. Later, modal analysis of frame was pocessed in MSC.Nastran,with a modal neutral file.Finally, the vehicle coupled multi-body dynamics model is established with modal neutralfile in ADAMS/Car. The dynamic loads, which are needed in analysis of fatigue life, areobtained through the dynamic simulation analysis. The calculation and analysis of fatigue lifeof frame were processed with using dynamic load. The results show that the life of the frame canmeet the mileage requirements for gerneral class road.
