This paper mainly aims at the design for wireless remote control system of model airplane, especially focus on the research of the antenna. With the increasing number of model aircraftenthusiasts, higher requirements for the model system’s reliability and stability are put forward.Wireless remote control system as an important part of the model, the study of its design has areality significance. The current research on model plane is mainly concentrated on the way ofcontrol, and the antenna design is ignored, but the reliability and the stability of a communicationsystem is directly determined by the antenna’s performance. At the same time, how to design aantenna that can meet the specific application requirement is a hot spot in antenna design field. This paper adopts the modular method to describe the wireless aeromodelling remote controlsystem in detail.Because the antenna module is the key part of the system, so in the beginning, wefirst give the design of the antenna module, and then give the overall scheme by combining thehardware circuit with the system software design. The main work of the paper are the following:1.Design a microstrip antenna for wireless model aircraft remote control system. According tothe theory of microstrip antenna,we choose the rectangular microstrip antenna as the designobject, first its size is determined and then the influences because of the change of the antenna’sparameters on its performance are analyzed, finally the antenna is modeled according to the givenparameters and simulated in the ADS simulation software, the simulation results show that thedesigned antenna can work well in the2.4Ghz frequency, reached the working frequencyrequirement of the rc remote control system;2.Antenna’s impedance matching. The various matching methods are compared, and finallywe choose the microstrip line matching method, because this method is easy to operate,it can becompleted just by using the ADS software. After the antenna matching circuit is loaded, simulationresults show that: at the resonance frequency, the antenna’s input impedance is matched fromprevious171.8-j*14.5ohm to the feeder’s impedance--50ohm, and we also get the results suchas the antenna’s pattern, voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR) and gain from the simulation. Theseresults show that the designed rectangular microstrip antenna can meet the demands of modelaircraft remote control system;3.The overall system design. In addition to the antenna, this paper directly select the integratedchips for the hardware circuit design, because of the requirements of high stability and reliability.through the analysis of the rc remote control system related technology, as well as the various chips are compared, finally the high-performance AVR micro-controller is used for control part designand the CYWM6936based on the sequence spread spectrum technology is selected for radio partdesign, they use the SPI interface to communicate.Combined with the designed antenna, the systemhardware circuit diagram is given. The software part includes the flow chart of transmitter andreceiver in the system, and then focus on the SPI data communication; Finally, through the integration of the above series researches and then the aircraft wirelessremote control system model is established in Simulink, and the wireless communication part issimulated, the simulation result shows that the whole wireless aeromodelling remote control systemhas a high stability and reliability by using the microstrip antenna instead of the traditional one.
