The plateau permafrost region covers an area of about2.15million square kilometers,accounting for21.5%of China’s land area. Over the years, the road construction in thesespecial areas are lack of effective maintaining methods, the harsh climate, complexmaintaining conditions, insufficient equipment and bad efficiency, resulting in arduousmaintenance task. With the development of these regions, our country pay more attention tothese areas in recent years, it is imminent task to devise the suitable multifunctionalmaintenance vehicle for cold plateaus highway. Relying on the ministry of westerntransportation construction project, we design the cold patch asphalt mixture multifunctionmaintenance vehicle for the Tibetan area.This article first the Qinghai-Tibet highway as an example of the plateau to find out thecold plateaus highway damage, maintenance status, and current problems, to determine thehighway destruction form of cracks and pits in the cold plateaus, and then analysis developedthe necessity for these two diseases to design rapid maintenance vehicles, In view of thecurrent problems class workers using the emulsified asphalt cold patch material conservationin cold plateaus, this paper proposed with providing prices low, mobile and flexible smalldevice, using the new method of hot-mix emulsified asphalt cold fill material, and thendevelop feasible program for maintenance vehicle, based on the fuzzy mathematicscomprehensive evaluation method to optimize and evaluation of the feasibility of the program,and choose the best solution.Secondly, the scheme involved in the maintenance equipment type selection anddesign.Self-developed hot cold feed heating mixing tank, to achieve function of heating coldpatch material and constant temperature control, and estimate the heating time of the mixingtank. In order to facilitate the construction, design maintenance vehicle multifunctional liftingdevice, avoid physical consumption handling maintenance equipment in the plateau hypoxiaareas, through use of3D software PROE building the lifting device modeling, and import themodeling into ANSYS Workbench for lifting device strength analysis. To ensure safeoperation, calculation possible tilting stability in the lifting process, in addition, this paper also finish the maintenance equipment layout, power output, the vehicle structure design.Finally, according experiments and analysis of experimental results to improve themaintenance vehicle prototype, completed maintenance vehicle design task, which cancomply rapid maintenance cracks and pits to solve the cold plateau highway maintenancedifficulties, and also provide a reference for other special areas of road maintenance vehicledesign.
