At present, there are a large number of old cement concrete pavements that are close totheir design life, even some of them exceed in China. According to the rapidly developedapplication demand of highway transportation, there appeared widespread damage to berepaired. Rubblization is a treatment technique for existed cement concrete pavement, whichis an important way of rebuilding or overhaul. Because of its effect on anti-reflective cracking,little impact on environmen and traffic, rapid construction speed, it has been used widely. Butthe research and application of rubblization technology is not very mature, therefore weshould study the applicable conditions of rubblization technology systemically.This paper established the finite element model of ABAQUS, referenced a large numberof related literatures at home and abroad and combined with the experiment road pavementstructure. Considering the elastic and plastic properties of the material, there were four typicalload positions in the model that are the middle of the slab, the corner of the slab, the middleof the transverse joint and the middle of the longitudinal joint. In order to analyze themechanical characteristics of existing cement concrete pavement under the impact of theMultiple-Head Breaker, with drucker prager criterion, this paper defined the damagecoefficient of F and analyzed the mechanical characteristics and damage effect of thepavement under the different hammer positions, different subgrade modulus and differenthammer energy. It is pointed that the mechanical characteristics and damage effect of thepavement were decided by the hammer positions, subgrade modulus and hammer energy. Thepavement was most easily broken when the Multiple-Head Breaker acted on the corner, butthe broken area was minimum, more difficult broken when the subgrade modulus are bigger,easier broken and the stress was larger when the hammer energy was bigger. The resultsindicated that different hammer positions and hammer energy should be chosen according tothe pavement and subgrade modulus in the rubblization of the existing cement pavement.In order to analyze the application conditions of the Multiple-Head Breaker in oldcement concrete pavement reconstruction, the method of three-dimensional finite elementwas used and the stress of basecourse,subgrade and culvert under the effect of the Multiple- Head Breaker were analyzed. According to the result above and the analysis of the tensilestrength of subbase,the shear strength of subgrade, the safe depth of the culvert, the stress anddisplacement of culvert structure, the applied condition was determined and the guidance ofthe construction technology was provided.
