To survey the vertical displacement between the dam site area and dam body ofHuang he Long yang xia hydropower station, the vertical deformation between reservoirarea and lower steam of dam site, the design assigned precision leveling line with thelength of15km,9km,25km, in which constitute the survey system of verticaldisplacement.The original survey system has the following problem which needs to be figured outfrom the aspect of Observation Scheme: Large amount of filed observation, the highrequirement of the technique, the low precision in vertex and low and observed frequencyis low. Compared to the precision level, the usage of GPS to measure the vertical.Precision can reach the precision level requirements and can meet the requirement ofrelated standard GB,deformation of base plate of the reservoir is more efficient andeconomize and more accurate..In order to solve the current problem of the traditional way of observation and obtainthe more accurate data from the observation, Assembly of Experts for the Safety Detectionof Long yang xia Reservior discussed the possibility of the usage of GPS level whichtake the place of the traditional way to measure the dam.The paper will, on the one hand, prove the possibility of GPS leveling, on the otherhand, try to improve the observation scheme by using site survey, and improve the designand observation confirmation.
