Research On Urumqi Urban Recreation Spatial Structure Based On The Citizens Needs

With the development of technology, the level of human productivity has beengreatly improved. And it will continuously increase at a quick speed. The improvementof people’s life level, the increase of disposable personal income and free time result inurban residents’ continuously growing recreational demand. However, at present, ourcountry is in the rapid development of society and rapid urbanization process. Urbanexpansion and urban construction cause a series of problems in urban recreation spatialstructure. The urban recreation supply hasn’t been able to go forward at an equal pacewith the demand. Therefore, Urumqi is chosen as a case in the paper. It offers researchto Urumqi urban recreation spatial structure from the demand of urban people. And themain research methods of the paper are documentation method, field investigation,interviewing method and questionnaires method. It can provide base to the developmentof Urumqi urban recreation and offer help to the development of recreation in theconcentrated city of the western minority nationalities.Through field investigation and the regulation of Urumqi, give a summary on types,features and distribution of recreation spatial resources in Urumqi. Besides, givestatistics and analytics on the number of recreation space. Through questionnaire survey,analyze the recreational time arrangement, recreation motivation and the perception ofsurrounding environment and facilities for recreation. It is concluded that the feature ofurban recreational demand.The factors influencing recreational demand and the ideal model of urbanrecreation spatial structure have been expounded. It draws a conclusion that Urumqiurban recreation spatial structure present “core—scatter---belt” mode. By analyzingrecreation resources, problems in Urumqi urban recreation space are found, such asirrational distribution of urban recreation space; single type; imperfect urban publictraffic construction; weak cultural fusion; poor quality of the ecological environment.Aiming at these problems, I put forward these measures as follows: improvecommercial recreation place; make full use of and fully develop recreational resources,such as parks, squares; pay attention to the space construction of recreational sportsvenues and community recreational space; strengthen the integration of cultural industry and recreation space; improve urban public traffic construction; and improve theenvironmental quality of recreational space. These measures help to achieve the aim offurther optimization of Urumqi urban recreation space. And finally citizen’srequirement will be met.
