Research On The Environmental And Urban Landscape Development Of Wuyishan Area

China has a long history, a vast territory and abundant resources. Geographicaland cultural diversities create distinctive urban living environments of China.Traditional oriental design philosophy and unique construction methods characterizethe development of ancient Chinese city, which is one of highlights in the history ofurban construction all over the world. Therefore, the investigation of Chineselandscape architecture and urban design method it is of great significance to theconstruction of modern regional characterized urban living environment. The objectiveof this paper is to dig deep into the experience and wisdom of the building of landscapearchitecture under the influence of local culture by taking the historical cities inWuyishan area, especially Pucheng country, as examples. It is believed that the studyof regional architectural culture of Wuyishan area must contribute to our understandingof the philosophy of ancient Chinese landscape architecture with regionalcharacteristics.Based on the comprehension of natural and humanistic environment of Wuyishanarea, the landscape environmental of the historic cities in this area is analyzed. At thesame time, Pucheng country has been taken as an example to explore the residentialenvironment and the construction philosophy of landscape features in Wuyishan area.This is completed by combing the method of literature consulting，spot-surveying, datacollecting and theoretical research.This paper focus on the evolution of habitat environment of Pucheng country, atypical historic city of Wuyishan area, as well as its urban form characteristics andcorresponding underlying reasons. By using a multi-scale analysis method, from the area to typical location of the country, the landscape modes are reviewed from theperspective of landscape pattern, city site selection, urban spatial axis, landmarks oftypical area and landscape node. The harmonious unity of the natural landscape andhumanistic landscape is summarized based on the unique ecological environment ofWuyishan area. As a result, a specific design method has been proposed, in which thedependence of urban form characteristics on the specific terrain as well as the keybuildings, the influence of the regional culture on the urban landscape realm image, theinfluence of landscape construction method on the specific geographical environmentand the design method of landscape node in case of various landscape patterns areconsidered. Finally, the significant meaning and function of human settlementenvironment for the modern urban construction in China are discussed by comparingwith the ancient landscape-based urban landscape design philosophy.
