Construction mortar is one of the largest consumption and indispensable importantbuilding material. As the urbanization process accelerated, preparation of massiveextraction of natural sand mortar, not only caused serious environmental problems andled to shortages of natural resources. On the other hand, with the development of ironand steel industry, a large number of similar steel slag and natural sand particles, aredeemed to be wastes a lot of stacked, not only the occupation of land and pollution ofthe environment.Grinding of steel slag as admixture, because it has a certain wateractivity is hard for preparation of binding material, but use it as a substitute for fineaggregate in mortar on cement mortar properties affect how, still awaits furtherexperimental research. In this paper, on the premise of good overall stability of steel slag mortar and steelslag from steel slag from the different stacking issue fine aggregate samples, in differentproportions respectively replace natural sand preparation of building mortar testresearch. At the same time, improve traditional mortar performance test according tomaximize the use of steel slag and the principle of the steel slag as fine aggregate toachieve stability, on the basis of mixed with just the right amount of steel slag powderand slag powder, the physical and mechanical properties and durability of the buildingmortar. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) on the aggregate and cementinterface microstructure analysis, and through the three methyl silicon alkylation technology, combined with gas chromatography analysis method, from [SiO4]4-monomer content angle analysis, respectively, cement, steel slag, slag and cement-steel slag-the activity of slag cementitious system.Experimental results show that the steel slag fine aggregate stability is bad, appropriate to reduce the maximum particle size of steel slag can reduce the influence ofthe overall stability of mortar. Stacked period shorter steel slag in0.15-4.75mm and0.15-1.18mm instead of natural sand, respectively, of10%and25%, the stability of themortar meets the requirements; And under the steel slag fine aggregate replacementquantity, mixed20%steel slag powder and20%slag powder to replace part of cementmortar, mortar construction performance and shrink resistant performance is good, butthe early compressive strength and frost resistance performance is poor. Piled up in theperiod of long steel slag, as fine aggregate content reaches50%, various properties ofcement mortar performance is best. Microscopic analysis tests showed that interface ofaggregate micro structure is consistent with the macroscopic behavior of cement mortar, the activity of gelled material and its hydration before [SiO4]4-monomer content is howmuch of a linear relationship,[SiO4]4-monomer content, the more the greater thehydration activity.
