The standing time of exposed steel structure under fire is less than20minutes.This leads to casualties and property losses. Therefore, it is necessary to research thefire protection and fire resistance of steel structure. A new kind of steel structureprotection technology is put forward in this paper, which adopts inorganic binder pasteaerated sheet protection method of steel members. This solve the problem of fire proofand anti-corrosion of steel structure building.Fire-resistant experiments on one full scale steel column are first presented. Onthe basis of the test, using finite element software simulation fire prevention and fireresistance of square steel tube column:(1) The finite element model is simulated by the software of ANSYS. Thetemperature development of steel column is influenced by the cross-section of steelcolumn, layer thickness and coefficient of thermal of fireproof. The finite elementcalculation results and formula calculation results are compared. The formula ofcomplex heat transfer coefficient is modified, when the ratio of thermal conductivityversus the thickness of protective layer is3,2.5and2;(2) The model affected by the static load and temperature load is simulated by thesoftware. The fire resistance performance of steel column is simulated bythermal-structural coupled calculation. The ultimate time of fire-resistance of steelcolumn is influenced by the ratio of thermal conductivity versus the layer thicknessand the cross-section shape for the steel column.(3) The economic analysis of the new coating method and the traditional coatingmethod is done.
