With the improvement of welding technology, welded stirrup has the advantages ofsaving steel, saving working time, facilitating the construction, and making the produc-tion industrialization and standardization. It can also avoid the disadvantages of tradi-tional stirrup in fabrication and installation, which has a good application pros-pect.However, the research on inclined section shear performance of reinforced con-crete beams with welding stirrups are less at home and abroad, lacking of testing data. The formula which applies to reinforced concrete beams with traditional stirrup may notapply to reinforced concrete beams with welded stirrup, because of different perform-ance characteristics. Therefore it’s necessary to research the shear capacity of weldedstirrups concrete beams. To research the inclined section shear performance of reinforced concrete beamswith welded stirrups, respectively research the inclined section shear performance of sixconcrete beams with welded stirrups and four concrete beams with common tie stirrups.Based on the test research, observed the developing process of the crack and the shearfailure pattern of welding stirrup beams and common tie stirrup beams, and analyzedthe shear bearing capacity and stirrup stress development process of each specimen.Test results show that it’s feasible to replace the common tie stirrup with weldingstirrup as shear stirrup in reinforced concrete beams. According to the test we obtainthat the development of the crack and the deformation, the failure form of welding stir-rup beams are similar to the common tie stirrup beams. In addition, the shear bearingcapacity of welding stirrup beams are slightly higher than common tie stirrup beams. Based on the test data and contrast the code of China, America and Singapore, we cansee that the formula provided by China can be more applied to concrete beams withwelded stirrups. According to the test, suggest using the formula of China code. The research can provide a theoretical basis for subsequent research and engi-neering application of welded concrete beams. |
