With the development of aerospace industry, long-range missiles and rockets areused more and more widely. While the solid rocket motor is the main power source forrocket and long-range missiles, how the energy of it can be reasonably allocated, hasbeen widespread concern. How to make missiles fly farther with limited specificimpulse conditions, has been researched by many astronauts.Starting from the trajectory simulation of the dual-pulse missile, this paperdiscusses the problem on the effects of missile-range, caused by the specific twice pulseswitch time. First, optimizing theories used in optimization process are described andcompared in this paper. And the detailed theory of Quadratic Programming Method arehighlighted. Then, creates a cruise missile flight model, and describes in detail of theUSSA76atmospheric standard model. Thereafter, optimizes the missile range, analyzesseveral optimized extreme points as different programs using computer simulation, andcompares the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative. Finally, summarizeshow to select the fire time and shutdown time of the dual-pulse solid rocket motor, andprovide a reference of setting the initial value for the optimizing energy allocation.
