With technological innovation, the21st century world is no longer spherical, butflat. The links between people, between people and things, between things will be atyour fingertips, all over the world. While the port as the center of world trade, willbecome the mainstream of goods transport in the21st century, because of itseconomic and convenience. At that time, container throughput of the major port willalso increase, and this will lead to increasing container yard intensity. Of course, thiswill inevitably lead to increasing the number of container relocations in the containeryard. While the container relocated operation has an important impact on the shipservice efficiency. Therefore, in order to enhance their loading and unloadingefficiency, the major ports are bound to reduce the number of container relocations. In order to reduce the number of container relocations, to improve the efficiencyof ship loading, and to obtain the optimal solution of container relocations, this paperchooses information of a port’s container yard as the research object. And the mainresearch works of this thesis are carried out as follows:Firstly, by studying the container relocations, the concept of container relocatedoperations are summarized, and are classified by different factors. Combined with theshipping container processes, the characteristics of container relocations are obtained. And according to selecting the solving goals, the object of this article is determined.Secondly, the modeling approaches of container relocations are analyzed.Multi-objective programming, dynamic programming and other related knowledgeare studied, and then the mathematical model of container relocations based onmulti-objective optimization is established. Then, the solving program of container relocations is studied, and a rule fordetermining the locations of relocated blocks is proposed. A heuristic algorithm basedon dynamic programming algorithm to optimize the operation of container relocatedis applied, and then single and multiple simulations to verify the feasibility of thealgorithm are designed. Finally, applied Arena simulation software, as well as VB and MATLABprogramming software, a container relocation scheduling system based onmulti-objective optimization is developed. In this paper, the container relocation scheduling system based onmulti-objective optimization is applied to the actual port operations. Through itsuser-friendly interactive interface, the operator can quickly obtain the optimalsolution of the container relocations. Thereby it will reduce the number of blocks relocated, and improve the efficiency of loading and unloading ships. Therefore, theresearch has its practical significance and application value.
