This paper In the background of transfer orbit and orbit around the moon oflunar satellite, the spacecraft’s multi-source celestial navigation and fault-toleranttechnique were studied in this work, which systematically fundamental principlesof celestial navigation and information fusion method based on federated Kalmanfilter were analyzed. A multi-source celestial navigation system was designedwith fault detection and isolation function. Major works of this project arepresented as follows:(1) The operational principles and error characteristics of several celestialsensors were analyzed: such as star sensor, sun sensor, infrared earth sensor, ultraviolet lunar sensor, X-ray pulsar sensor, etc. Using orbital dynamics equationand attitude dynamics equation as state equation, observation model and statemodel of the multi-source celestial navigation system was built.(2) Construction and algorithm of federated Kalman filter were introduced.According to backgrounds of transfer orbit, orbit around the moon, attitudedetermination while around the moon, federated Kalman filter compatible tothese backgrounds were designed. Transfer orbit and orbit around the moon forlunar satellite were designed by using STK, then, simulated and analyzed theperformance of each subsystem and global with EKF of nonlinear system.(3) The fault-tolerant filtering algorithm based on residual error test waspresented, and the different performance between conventional Kalman filter andfault-tolerant Kalman filter was analyzed while several sensors were set failure atdifferent periods in sequence.
