| Plate-fin heat exchanger (PFHE) plays an important role in many fields, because of itscompactness and high heat transfer efficiency. It is a main section in large-scale airseparation system, and its action circumstances will shake the presentation of the organism.With the distributed parameter mathematical model, the performance of each passage inPFHE can be simulated based on the MWorks platform. And then guidance can beprovided for heat exchanger’s further optimization in design and operation. Based on thistheme, the work of this paper is mainly composed of the following several parts.This paper presents an effective method for the passage arrangement, together withthe corresponding calculation program, after analysis and comparison the researchachievements of predecessors, as the passage arrangement is the key to the design of heatexchanger. With this program, the computer can arrange the channel automatically andthen according to the result of calculation of each passage the computer can optimize theexisting array.A mathematical model is made for the multi-stream plate-fin heat exchanger, anddifficulties for example the resolve of some parameters, design of the wall temperature,simulation algorithms and calculation current process are also discussed. The simulationprogram is written based on MWorks, which can be used to simulate the performance ofthe Plate-fin heat exchanger under changed conditions and establish the performance ofthe Plate-fin heat exchanger accurately. The package takes full advantage of the designlanguage in MWorks, which improve the expandability, convenience and readability of thepackage.By comparing other literature data and the simulation results, we can see thefeasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. The passage which is poor performance of heat transfer in the simulation result is adjusted to optimize the passagearray in PFHE. Based on the above results, some parameters of the heat exchanger areselected to analyze their influence to the performance of heat exchanger. This article hasgreat meaning on the design and optimal of PFHE. |
