The Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine(BDFM) is the motor of a new type of structure, itis easy to maintain because it canceled the brush and slip ring, inverter capacity only30-40%of the total power, power factor can be adjusted, etc., in wind power and marineshaft generator speed variation range of production areas have broad application prospects. This article based on the wound rotor brushless doubly-fed machine analysis of thebasic operating principles; derive the equivalent circuit of BDFM, analysis the calculationmethod of equivalent circuit parameters. The idea of designing Brushless doubly-fedmachine and the algorithm parameters and performance simulation process is given; aBDFM performance simulation program is designed. The simulation program is compiledinto a dialogue window of the user interface using the high-level language C++, on theinterface the parameters can be modified at any time and the output can be get instantly, thismake the analysis of the different parameters more easily, and the performance parameterscan be known before the actual motor being produced. The program can calculate theoutput voltage, output power, output torque and motor efficiency parameters and responseperformance curve of BDFM under the given conditions. For the motor design, the programsaves manufacturing costs and shortens the design cycle. So the program has a certainpractical value in the engineering design. In this paper, output data as well as speed-performance curve is derived by theparameter simulation program, the comparison with the experimental shows the results areaccurate at generally range. And comparison of simulation of the torque characteristics inmotor mode shows, the change of the control winding equivalent resistance can expand therange of motor stable operation.
