| Solar chimney power technology, as clean renewable solar heat energy, has beenresearched by the scientists, organizations and companies for lots of years. But theinvestment is so high and the efficiency is so low that there are few projects working inreality serving the society. So the research of reducing the fundamental investment andincrease the efficiency is significant to promote the development of the solar chimney andmake a difference to the energy condition in the future.This paper firstly made the numerical simulation of the velocity field, pressure field andtemperature field of the solar chimney in summer and winter condition. Based on these data,it is found that it is feasible to combine the solar chimney and solar pond. The combinationadvantages were analyzed. The solar pond and solar chimney investments were madecomparisons. Because the solar pond environment temperature increases, and the heat lossesdecrease, so the efficiency of the solar pond will increase. The solar chimney efficiency iscalculated in the condition of solar radiation1000W/m2,700W/m2and400W/m2.The result shows that the efficiency of the solar chimney power system during the daydecreases when combine with a solar pond which is working at the same time. The solarpond is a nice heat storage layer which can supply heat to the solar chimney power system atnight. The energy output by the solar chimney at night as an increase to the unit efficiency atdaytime is bigger than the efficiency drop of the solar chimney during the daytime whencombine with a solar pond. And a nice storage layer is more useful in high solar radiation.When combine a solar pond in a solar chimney power system in the solar radiation intensity1000W/m2, it means we can earn another7,375,000yuan for a year if the system can work250days a year and electricity price is0.5yuan per KWh. The total investment of solar pondand solar chimney will reduce including land expenses end material expenses. |
