Video-based Highway With Traffic Incident Detection Coil Detection System

With the improvement of people’s economic level, the development of highway is alsogrows rapidly, which has brought great economic benefits and social benefits for people totravel, and highway convenient,fast characteristics make the service level significantlyhigher than the general road. But with the development of highway as well as the people toincrease highway usage, the traffic incidents increase rapidly, while the highway’speculiarity is close and fast, in the event of accidents, mostly are major accidents and caneasily lead to traffic jams and second accident, which cause serious impact on the theoverall capacity and operational efficiency of the highway. Therefore, only timely andaccurately detect the traffic incident can make the highway fast and accurate operate.Currently, induction coil detector and video detector are commonly used, Theinduction coil is one of the most commonly used data acquisition equipment of highway atpresent, most of it buried in the pavement below. less affected by the external environment,all-weather work, accurate detection data, but its post-maintenance is inconvenient. Thevideo detector’s real-time has strong performance, good intuition, convenient maintenance,but it is easy affected by the weather. If combine the two detection technologies togethercan avoid their shortcomings and achieve the best effect.This paper devises an event detection system that bases on the integration of videoand coil technology. Firstly, with the TransModeler software simulates the traffic event,and through the analysis of data processing, to determine the best placement of pitchdetector. Then with video detection technology processes the incident, with inter-framesubtraction to detect the moving object and cam-shift method to track moving object.Lastly the video detection technology combined with the coil makes detection to achievethe best, and use BP neural network training and validation the data.
