Based on the collecting and summarizing of the design data of the cable-stayed bridgewith high and low towers at home and abroad, in view of the structure features andapplication conditions, the design parameter analysis and optimization method of thecable-stayed bridge with high and low towers is discussed. The main contents are asfollows:1. To explore the theory and method which are suitable for the parameter analysis andoptimization of cable-stayed bridge based on the existing research results and to lay thefoundation of the analysis of design parameters and optimization of the cable-stayed bridgewith high and low towers.2. Using the finite element software Midas/Civil to establish a finite element model forthe cable-stayed bridge with high and low towers. The design parameters of cable-stayedbridge with high and low towers is studied based on the variable parameters analysis andthe main design parameters include the position of the edge-across auxiliary pier, the backstay force, the rigidity of the beam and the height of tower (depth-span ratio). The impact ofthe single parameter changes on the mechanical behavior of the cable-stayed bridge withhigh and low towers is studied.3. Adopting the method of finite element method combined with mathematicalstatistics theory, the design parameter is optimized through orthogonal design. Four factorswhich are auxiliary pier location, back stay force, the height of higher tower and lowertower height. Three levels among each factor are selected and theL493orthogonal tableis chosen.12indicators which can reflect the overall mechanical properties of thecable-stayed bridge are selected. Using the method of analysis of variance, the regularpattern of parameters on indicators is got according to the calculated results of the9modeltests. The main factors and secondary factors of the indicators are found out and the optimalsolution is got after a comprehensive comparison and analysis. 4. Based on the analysis of design parameters and orthogonal experiment, the systemof design parameter analysis and optimization method of the cable-stayed bridge with highand low towers is developed. it also provide a reference for similar bridge design andanalysis.
