Freeway is growing fast in our country. But with the growing trend of traffic volume, alot of freeways that built up in early years appear that their transportation conditions are notmeet the demand of rapid economic development, traffic volume saturate, capacities areinsufficient, service levels drop, and the main reason is low design standard. In order to solvethese conditions, some freeways have carried on the reconstruction. Main-taming trafficmanagement is one of key tasks for freeway reconstruction.The article gives full consideration to the importance of traffic organization during thetime of freeway’s reconstruction and extension, then analyzing the methods of trafficmanagement, applying some theories and techniques traffic engineering, behavioral science,probability and stochastic analysis techniques to analyze the capacity and service levels offreeway work time. In the part of capacity, the paper introduced the influencing factor of mainsection capacity, ramp capacity and construction area capacity, then explained theircalculation methods. In the part of service levels, mainly to explained the calculation methodsand evaluation of service levels. Contingency plans and the regional road network trafficorganization are analyzed.Finally, It is proved and demonstrated by the example of the traffic organization aboutChangzhang expressway. |
