Fiber asphalt chip seal is a method of preventive maintenance, itfavorable economy benefit and applicational foreground resort to crack, water, resistance andadvanced construction craftwork, shortcut construction speed.There are not any technology prescriptions of its application area, materials properties,mix design, performance evaluation construction technology, quality control in correlationalcriteria at present. The mix design of fiber asphalt chip seal still bases on conventionalexperience method, the material usage is random and uncertain. Need to prove theadaptability and foreign technical standards, so the research of fiber asphalt chip seal hasstrong practical significance.Firstly, the mechanisms of interaction and strength formation among the fiber, asphaltand gravel were analyzed. The important technical parameters affecting the strength of fiberasphalt chip seal were determined. Meanwhile, the crack-retarding mechanism of fiber asphaltchip seal was studied proceeding from the types, causes of cracks and crack propagationforms.Secondly, the interlayer tensile and shear performances of fiber asphalt chip seal wereevaluated with the drawing tester and self-developed positive pressure torsional shear tester.The influencing factors on the interlayer tensile and shear properties were put forwardcombining orthogonal experiments. Furthermore, the design method taking the tensile andshear strength between the layers as the indicators was proposed. Origin software was appliedto regress the interlayer tensile and shear properties under different combinations, optimumasphalt and aggregate content were calculated through the regression model.Then, based on Hamburg wheel tracking test put forward the evaluation method andindex of fiber asphalt chip seal crack-resisting, and analyzed the fracture-life effect ofdifferent kinds of preventive maintenances. Hamburg wheel tracking test was used to analyzeanti-water damage property and high temperature stability of different kinds of preventivemaintenances. Finally, According to the law of decay of overlay pavement structure, life decay modelwas set up, Using fatigue life ratio K between different kinds of preventive maintenancemethods to determine the material influence factors, it was predicted that the life of the threekinds of preventive maintenance methods when PCI attenuation to70. And according to the“equivalent annual cost methodâ€, this paper analyzed economic benefit and found that fiberasphalt chip seal can benefit more. |
