Research On The Correlation Between Spatial Organization Of Traditional Settlements And Culture Rituals: With Case Study On Jingzhong District

For nearly30years, China is undergoing the most large-scale urbanization processin human history. Along with countless new buildings standing up, the traditional ruralsettlements as well as the traditional rural life have undergone earth-shaking challenges.On the one hand, with rural settlements’ expansion, their traditional landscape formswhich is full of lives have been replaced by newly built roads and factories. On theother hand, the traditional folk culture which serves as the media of traditional countrylife, is slowly dying off, or for sale, become the the “stage props” for soliciting business.In the context of globalization and regionalization, it is attention to subject f whichpeople live and guard day and night to focus on traditional settlements spaces.With case study on Jingzhong District, this thesis concentrates on the correlationbetween spacial organization of traditional settlements and culture rituals. According tothe research on several traditional settlements including Liangchun Village, DuanVillage, Dayangquan Village, Zhangbi Village and Xiamen Village, this thesisseparately analyzed the ritual elements of evolutionary process of traditional settlements,and special demands of ritual behaviors in Jingzhong Districts. Then after interpretationon synchronic and diachronic correlation, the research proposes the internal relationshipbetween spacial organization and culture rituals mentioned above that both of themshare an isostructuralism form and represent the same meaning and value.
