Traditional earth residential is both a carrier of the rural architectural culture of theNorthwest China, also has the ability to adapt to the climate, eco-friendly, economical,and thus there is still a large number of rural population living in Earth residential. Withthe progress of time and development of socio-economic, rammed earth residential, adoberesidential are replaced by the proposed brick and concrete houses gradually. Althoughthe traditional Earth residential has poor living environment quality, dysfunction, poorrain erosion resistance and safety hazards.However, this kind of residential has the virtues as easy self-built, use local materials,mild winters and cool summers indoor temperature, especially the earth wall equippedthe ability called "breathing effect" that can be an effective balance of indoor and outdoorair humidity, more energy conservation, ecological balance and sustainable development,materials of residential can be recycled used or backfill the land. Nowadays buildingmaterials may not have those advantages. With the climatic characteristics that dry andcold in winter, dry and hot in summer of the northern part, humid and hot in summer,humid and cold in winter of the southern part, earth architecture shows powerful vitality.In the current environment, people are concerned about the energy crisis, environmentalprotection, sustainable development. Leading and help these rural architectural developin a green way, is the effective pattern to achieve energy saving, environmental protection.Earth residential in southern Shaanxi is selected as the object of this study, from theresidential areas of the village, Through the investigation on the mountainous area ofsouthern Qinling Mountains typical residential settlements Bailong Village and analysisof adobe dwellings wall structure. According to the local economic level and residential characteristics, discuss effects of Ma grass, sweet photo starch those two additives on thethermal performance of earth mechanical properties.Five earth sample as earth, mixed with0.3%Ma grass, mixed with0.5%Ma grass,mixed with3%sweet potato starch, mixed with5%sweet potato starch were comparedin direct shear, compressing and thermal conductivity tests, analysis of change of earthwall’s mechanical and thermal property before and after modified. Finally throughEcoTect software for thermal simulations.Experimental results show that mixed with the0.5%Ma grass earth sample has themost outstanding modified effect. It has a compressive strength of4.13MPa compare to2.14MPa of earth, strength improved93%. For shear strength. It reached237.14kPa whenpressure is400kPa, strength improved74%.Thermal conductivity modification effect from the point of view, mixed with the0.5%Ma grass earth sample thermal conductivity decreased by11%compared with earthsample. From the results of thermal simulations, we know that modified wall residentialhas better indoor environment and envelope insulation properties. |
