With the development of science and technology and economy in our country,the development of architectural design is becoming comprehensive andmultipurpose. The shape of the structure becomes more complex. The shape ofactive center is novel. The area contact with the ground of active center is aboutone third of the planar projection. The inclined arch is on the both side of theground part. This paper calls it annular inclined arch structure. This kind ofstructure will be more in the future.There is no systematic study for annular inclined arch structure. As a newform of structure, annular inclined arch structure brings difficulties for structuraldesign. In order to make the design of active center more reasonable, and provide areference for future design of such structure, this paper researches the composition,static and dynamic performance, stability and seismic capacity of the annularinclined arch structure.Based on the geometric formation, this paper researches the basic mechanicalcharacteristics of the annular inclined arch structure. Studies shows that inclinedarch cannot bear the load, it produce very large displacement under self-weight.The displacement of the inclined arch needs to decrease by applying tension. Theinner and outer ring and vertical members compose inner and outer truss. Truss andslab compose the overall structure. Truss can decrease the displacement of inclinedarch. Solid-web truss is better choice.The angle of inclined arch, bearing type, and whether there is slab are theparameter. If the angle of the inclined arch is larger, the displacement of theoblique arch and internal force of the members will be smaller. Bearing type haslittle effect on the static performance. This paper suggests that make the steelstructure bear all loads, because the slab has a great stress value.Annular inclined arch structure has high overall stiffness. Low-order modal ismainly around Y and Z axis rotation and along the Y and Z axis translational.Along the X axis translation is small. The static elasto-plastic analysis shows thatannular inclined arch structure has strong seismic capacity. The stability of annularinclined arch structure meets requirements. The angle of the inclined arch is larger;the stability is better. The stability of rigid support structure is better.This paper suggests adopt inclined column, rigid support and the angle of theinclined arch is about25degrees. The design of active center conforms to thesuggestion of this paper. The results of the analysis show that the displacement and the internal force of members of active center are small. The seismic capability andstability of Active center is good.
