Long-wave infrared panoramic aerial camera can obtain radiation informationof infrared targets in large areas, with the advantages of manoeuvrable flexibility, large observation areas and high resolution. It can work in all weather operationsand has important military application prospect. This thesis studies the panoramicaerial camera employing long-wave infrared devices. The main tasks are:Firstly, the main parameters and scanning mode are determined according tothe operating principle, desired performance of the whole system and the parametersof the detector. The reflection characteristics of45°rotating mirror and K mirror areanalyzed using the reflection theory. Then, based on the scanning imaging model, two scanning schemes for thepanoramic aerial camera are designed for inertial system and noninertial systemusing homogeneous coordinates transformation method in which45rotating mirrorand K mirror are used. The image motion in two scanning schemes is analyzed byMATLAB simulation and the results prove their feasibility. At last, a long-wave infrared optical system is designed for the panoramicaerial camera. To meet the requirement of the scanning structure, the optical systemconsists of scanning mirror, telescope, K mirror and imaging lenses. The objectivelens of the telescope uses RC structure while the ocular lens uses a germanium lensand the imaging lenses use four lenses. The MTF of the final result is over0.3atnyquist frequency.
