As the energy and environment problems become increasingly prominent, theresearch and application of geothermal energy get rapid developments. This paperintroduces the development of geothermal energy to the snow and ice meltingtechnology of roads, and a set of geothermal energy road de-icing system wasdeveloped for geothermal snow-melting technology. Combining with the mechanicsexperiment of the pile buried with U pipe components, the ANSYS finite elementmathematical model was built to prove the system, and on this basis different buriedpipe laying schemes were put forward for different road geographical environments.The main contents are as follows:1. Through the study of environmental impact as well as the national policy ofenergy conservation and other issues, geothermal energy, the renewable resources atboth at home and abroad of the focal point of the growing environment has gooddevelopment prospects was proved, and a detailed introduction of ground source heatpump system was made, and the technical feasibility geothermal energy will beintroduced into the road de-icing was put forward.2. Conceived the components of geothermal energy road de-icing system,underground heat exchange portion, snow melting heat pump units and thecomposition of melting snow at the end part of the structure, and the concepts ofsystems and details of working principle were talked about detaily.3. Analysed the components of underground heat exchanger, studied theinfluence of U PE buried pipes on the bending, compressive, tensile bearing capacityof concrete, summarised the project feasibility of the pile buried pipes, and thegeothermal energy road de-icing technology solution that bury the U type pipes in theanti-slide piles was put forward.4. Made the experiments between buried pipes components and no pipes onpiles, analysed the capacity influence of with and without U PE on piles and theANSYS finite element mathematical model was built to prove the influence byanalysing stress and deformations under the conditions of the compression, shearing,bending respectively. The results of ANSYS model are consistent with the tests,showing the results are accurate, and U-shaped tubes have smaller influence on thebearing capacity of the concrete pile structures is proved by analysing the results of the ANSYS model and the tests.5. Designed geothermal energy road de-icing system and made schemescomparisons, made the detailed analysis of the construction cost and operation costand proved the superiority of pile buried with U-shaped pipes in road de-icing snowremoval technology and it can be applied in engineering by sufficient comparisons ofthe safety, reliability and the impact on environment.
