The bridge cable anchor system, as a significant part of the bearing structure oflong-span bridges, once damaged, will decline in usability and endurance, thusprobably causing disastrous accidents of the bridge structure, resulting in terriblesocial influence and grievous economic loss. Therefore, the effective andnondestructive test of the bridge cable anchor system becomes especially essential.Accordingly, the thesis proposed the nondestructive test of the bridge cable anchorsystem based on magnetostrictive guided waves.First, the thesis extensively surveyed the structure and common faults of thebridge cable anchor system, deeply studied the laws of those common faults andespecially studied the distribution laws of the erosion of steel cables of cable-stayedbridges. As a consequence, the thesis established the safety standard of the cableanchor system of cable-stayed bridges, and the safety standard of the suspenderanchor system of through and half-through arch bridges and suspension bridgesSecond, on those bases, the thesis contrasted the basic laws and the range ofapplication of common nondestructive testing methods of the anchor system, ensuredthe superiority and adaptability of the nondestructive test with magnetostrictiveguided waves and developed the nondestructive testing system based onmagnetostrictive guided waves. The system contains three sections: signal processingsystem, guided wave receiving system, and magnetostrictive guided wave stimulatingsystem. The thesis also described in detail how to realize the function of the systemand designed two sensors based on magnetostrictive guided waves—stimulatingsensor and receiving sensor.At last, the thesis designed the experiment of the nondestructive testing systembased on magnetostrictive guided waves aimed at no load, static load and bridgedefects, completed the experiment of testing with magnetostrictive guided waves thebridge cable anchor system in different cable-broken situations and verified theaccuracy of the experiment, and laid the foundation of the evaluation system of thedefects of the bridge anchor system.The thesis creatively proposed the nondestructive test based on magnetostrictiveguided waves aimed at the bridge anchor system. The test can be conducted distantlyand react rapidly, thus especially suitable for motoring the anchor system ofcable-stayed bridges, through and half-through arch bridges and suspension bridges.The test has a vast market and application value, which will bring about immense economic and social efficiency.
