The power system is the main supplier of the community needs energy, also the major consumer of energy. In recent years, the social consumption increased dramatically, the amount of energy consumed by the electric power industry is rising year by year. Since the state has promulgated the "energy-saving power generation scheduling approach", exploring the primary energy consumption of the smallest model to improve the power generation side of the primary energy efficiency an important practical significance gradually apparent. This thesis locates in above context, the new situation and problem faced by the economic dispatch of hydrothermal power systems, research on the primary energy consumption lowest model and its algorithm.Focus on the hydropower resources as a primary energy economy savings, and considering the energy complementary and simplified calculation factors such as water and fire a complementary manner, the joint economic dispatch problem has large-scale nonlinear programming features of fire and water, into a hydropower optimization sub-problems and thermal power optimization sub-problems. At the same time, starting from the basic principles of the energy-saving power generation scheduling-the perspective of primary energy savings, were constructed based on different objectives and requirements, the generation scheduling model, in order to seek a minimum primary energy consumption optimum modeling.In order to effectively solve the energy-efficient scheduling model, an improved imitation electromagnetics algorithm. Presence of fixed and moving step for a basic imitation electromagnetism algorithm affect the convergence rate and the algorithm searches for space and more time-consuming issues such as basic imitation electromagnetics algorithm based on the improvement strategies to improve the algorithm optimization performance. Algorithms in the physical mechanism on the basis of the original algorithm running, the use of adaptive step, the search space reduction and mutation strategy to speed up the convergence rate, improve search accuracy, increasing the probability of optimization results close to the optimal solution.Two small-scale test results show that, based on the law of complementary energy-saving power generation scheduling model, the full realization of the economic savings of hydropower resources, reflecting the hydropower resources as the importance of energy, while reducing the coal resources consumption, in line with national energy saving energy use policy. Water coal conversion coefficient of hydropower resources are translated into fuel costs, constitute a minimum energy consumption optimization model can not only save coal resources, but also take into account the efficient use of water resources, follows the primary energy saving purpose.
