Ultrasonic transducer is the core component of ultrasonic application equipment, the research level of the ultrasonic transducer directly affects the development of ultrasonic industry. In order to solve the problems for using traditional single frequency piezoelectric transducer in power ultrasonic application, the whole radiation dual-frequency piezoelectric transducer is designed according to the needs of practical application in this paper. This type ultrasonic transducer has two different working frequencies, which can radiate ultrasonic wave from both ends. For its specific application, a systematic study is done in this paper.The force electric analogy method, which is the basic design theory of piezoelectric transducer, is detail analyzed at first, then the general design idea and the measures of using equivalent circuit to design piezoelectric transducer is obtained. Secondly the structure and the implementation way of the whole radiation dual-frequency piezoelectric transducer are given out. A new design method is proposed by contraposing the boundedness of the equivalent circuit design method for dual-frequency piezoelectric transducer. And then the satisfactory frequency equation set would be deduced. Once more, the simulation and optimization of the transducer model are done by ANSYS software. After that the finish sizes of the transducer are obtained, so that the prototype can be manufactured out and its parameters are measured. Also, the power of the prototype is matched. In the end of this paper, the sound distribution and intensity is studied by doing cavitation test of the prototype.As the ANSYS simulation results display, the frequency equation set is correct. The dual-frequency ultrasonic transducer which has two different frequencies base on the specific application needs can be designed by using this design method, and the design values are similar to the actual values. Relevant acoustic field test results show that, the whole radiation dual-frequency piezoelectric transducer in this paper has a variety of work modes, so the situation that the sound field is uneven distribution by use of the traditional transducer can be well improved, moreover the effect of acoustic radiation is enhanced.
