In this paper, the realization and seismic performance and advantages of the brick masonry seismic wall’s bending failure pattern were studied, which is the research content of the NSFC(The Grant No.50978177) and NSFSP(The Grant No.20110313026-3).The masonry structure remain the major structure in the longer time, if the brittle shearing damage of masonry wall can be changed and its seismic performance can be improved. Therefore, how to change the shear failure pattern of masonry structure and realize bending failure form and improve its seismic performance become the research focus. This paper regard rectangular section Ⅱ-TB2and Ⅰ section Ⅲ-TB1as the research specimen, the major research content as the followings:1.The two specimens are made, based on its basic situation and the code of.The making of specimen mainly include the concrete beam, brick masonry wall, the paste of Resistance strain piece, the steel welding and concrete pouring of Constructional column. This part introduces the installation requirements of two kinds of displacement meter, and the test device and loading system. At the same time, this part fully describe the function of two kinds of support, which one at the bottom of jack, another one at the top of jack.2.This part describe the test phenomenon of two specimens in the different stages, the test phenomenon mainly include the following contents:the bearing capacity, displacement and crack location when the specimen appear crack and reach the ultimate bearing capacity. This part compare the test phenomenon of two specimens.3.This part introduce the two theory methods which can judgment the damage form of masonry seismic wall. The fist method,the masonry wall will appear bending failure when ηM>ηV,the ηM is the bending load factor, the ηV is the shear load factor. The another method, the initial crack form of masonry wall is the bending crack when λmax>λb, instead, the initial crack form is the shearing crack,the λmax is maximum shear span ratio of cross section, λb is critical shear span ratio of cross section. This part judgment the failure results of two specimens by above theory methods, its results is the same to test results of two specimens. The test proposed the above theory methods is correct, and this part draw a conclusion is masonry wall could be the strong shear and weak bending artifacts by control its shear span ratio.4.This part analysis the test data and phenomenon of two specimens. This test data mainly include Skeleton curves, steel bar strain curves,Wall displacement Angle, Energy dissipation and damping ratio. The skeleton curves can analysis Stiffness, strength, resilience, and ductility. steel bar strain curves can analysis The working mechanism of reinforced and masonry structure. The wall displacement Angle analysis the three levels of requirements in the design of masonry structure. The damping ratio analysis energy dissipation of masonry wall. The test phenomenon mainly account for the mechanism of energy dissipation when the masonry at the different stress stages.
