Architecture is the tangible carrier of national culture and is a fantastic art. Ancient building structures of China occupy important position in the world building history. It is a microcosm of the splendid culture of5,000years of Chinese history and the efforts and wisdom of ancient China working people. With its unique architectural structure system, Chinese wooden architecture gradually formed a unique architectural system by introducing new architecture for thousands of years and become representatives of the Oriental architectural culture. At the same time, the ancient Chinese architectural system is one of the most representative in the ancient civilizations of China. Existing ancient ruins with extremely valuable historical and cultural value, artistic value and the scientific research value has important practical value for the study on the characteristics of ancient building structures in China and its seismic performance. As a love of the motherland, we have an obligation and responsibility to protect the ancient buildings of the wooden structure. However, with the passage of time, Protection of ancient architecture, reinforcement and renovation of ancient buildings is also extremely urgent for the man-made and environmental destruction of the ancient buildings of the wooden structure becoming more and more serious. This paper study and analysis the structural performance of wooden ancient buildings in China, by using existing wooden antique building as a basic starting point. Through theoretical analysis and finite element numerical simulation, I did a numerical analysis of the performance of the wooden building, with large finite element software SAP2000.1mainly do the following several aspects of work.(1) Based on ancient buildings in China, I summarize the results of previous studies and have a preliminary overview of the development of the ancient architecture, features, and domestic and foreign research. At the same time, I highlighted the significance of the study wood construction; (2)1have a simple analysis of the reasons for China’s ancient architectural use of wood. In accordance with the existing theoretical knowledge, material characteristics and the basic characteristics of the ancient building materials wood. In order to better study the characteristics of the material, I conducted tests of mechanical properties of wood, focuses on the entire process of wood bending elastic modulus and flexural strength tests, and preliminary mechanical properties of wood;(3) Departure from the construction of the structure, I analyzed the structural characteristics of China’s ancient wooden structure, the role of the structural members and the meaning of existence. This article focuses on the structural Performance of and seismic damping characteristics of the texture and structure;(4) According to the existing theory and instance data, I do finite element analysis of the structural performance. I did analyze the dynamic characteristics of the structure and concluded reasonable structure, the natural frequencies and structural shapes, and laid the foundation for future research and analysis;(5) Taking into account the characteristics of the wood frame structure, I analyzed the structure under wind loads and earthquake (modal response spectrum method).I got the displacement difference between the maximum layer of the structure and the displacement angle. And because the structure is lighter weight, greater vibration cycle, the earthquake was less affected, however, the structure mainly influenced by the wind load. In the analysis of the ancient architecture of the wooden structure, it is recommended to pay attention to the effects of wind load. On this basis, I continue to do dynamic time history analysis of the structural performance of the ancient wooden building focusing on analysis of the structure of the Ming layer response under three different seismic waves and got a reliable conclusion of the third layer is structurally weak layer. At the same time, the layer displacement deformation and the maximum displacement angle of the structure under dynamic loads meet the requirements. Structure largely intact.
