Expressway has already become an essential interactive product in people’s daily life.With the improvement of people’s material conditions, high demands are put forward tohighway design,People pay more and more attention to comfortableness of highway use.Under the guidance of the philosophy of sustainable development, The highway builders havegradually paid attention to the construction of highway and the use of influence tosurrounding environment. Expressway landscape design came out under such background.Due to the specific nature of the appreciation of the environment, Principle and method ofdesign of expressway landscape design is different from general landscape design. However,the expressway landscape design in China is still in the stage of exploration and development.Design needs to have a certain theoretical knowledge as the instruction. At this stage,we needManage and improvethe system of landscape design, and put the opinionsapplied intoindustry practice. It is meaningful.to Test results in practice.By referring to a great deal of literature and expertise,This paper described theoreticalknowledge,design philosophy,design method in detail. For the highway landscape designexample, essentials and methods of highway landscape,we have put forward some ratherprofound views and have formed a comprehensive theoretical system.And this theory as theinstruction to complete the work of multiple projects,Main results for this study are asfollows:（1）Highway landscape is a typical long ribbon，It is made up of a plurality ofdistinctive inscapes.Expressway landscape creates multidimensional categories due to its wideacross frontiers.At the same time, this landscape is dynamic and instantaneous For thevositors, Highway landscape also embodies the integration of functionality and aesthetics,Sothe evaluation system of landscape have multisubjectivity. Highway landscape features aredifferent from other landscape,which decided the particularity of its design principles, neededto be on the premise of functional principles and on the basis of comprehensive principles,guided by the principles of sustainability. Highway landscape is the necessary result for thepervasion and integration of the the landscape ecology, environmental engineering, visualpsychology, the garden esthetics knowledge, which is the theoretical basis for expressway landscape designt.（2）Expressway landscape design include alignment design, structures and ancillaryfacilities design, and landscape restoration design. Structures and ancillary facilities design isthe main task of expressway landscape design. Alignment design is very important in highwaylandscape design, but due to the current situation, this content is very difficult to implement,only be reflected in some key projects. Landscape restoration design is still in the testing stagein our country, remains to be further research and development.（3）Plant Landscape Design is the main line of the highway landscape design. It requirethat first consider security, the design based on the integrity, pursuit sustainable development,select suitable tree. Give full play to beauty, environmental improvement, soil and waterconservation and so on.（4）Based on these theoretical knowledge, completed the Algerian East-West highwaygreen design and some other projects’ plant landscape design and environmental design.Making green design can be done according to local conditions and distinctive features,attention to environmental design,focused on considering the acoustic environment and thegovernance of water pollution, soil and water conservation measures and landscaperestoration design. Practice based on theory, can considering more clearly and morecomprehensive, and can enhance the quality of the landscape.
